  • Entries are listed on the website.  Know what events you are swimming.
  • Be prepared…TYS Suit, Cap, extra goggles, extra towels, shoes, etc.
  • Bring lots of food and water.  Meets always last longer than you expect and you will get hungry!
  • Be early…15 minutes before warm-up is scheduled!
  • When you arrive…Find the team area, find the bathroom, find your coach, and get ready to swim.
  • Get a Heat Sheet…Find your name, heat, and lane assignments.
  • Dynamic warm-up should be done on your own or as a group before getting in the water.
  • Warm-up with the team, and then get settled.  Know what time the meet starts!
  • Relays will be announced after warm-ups.  Listen carefully!
  • Stay in tune with the flow of the meet. Don’t wander off and lose track of when you swim!
  • Girls events are odd-numbered and boys events are even-numbered.

(Example: "Event #26, 10-Under Boys, 50 freestyle)

  • After your race, shake hands with the swimmers next to you.  Be humble.  Be respectful.

  • After your race, be sure to warm-down per the coach’s instructions.
  • Awards are collected by the coaches after the meet and then distributed the following week.
